The Amari Coral Beach Hotel in Phuket. Malia and I decided that this was the best hotel experience of our lives (which was an Acapulco hotel until now). Why, you ask? First, note the balcony view from our room - steps from the beach, pictured here too. It was a charming, quiet beach, but minutes away from lively Patong. The staff were incredible, stopping to say Sawatdee Ka or Good Morning and taking anything from us that we were carrying. The food was OUTSTANDING and they understood vegetarian needs. The spa massage was the best ever. It was the food, staff, can-do attitude, anticipate your every desire, and a wonderful location. We had a hard time leaving the grounds...but we did.

  1. Wow! What a gorgeous place! Did you get a Thai massage? They are a little different than American ones. When I went to Phuket it was monsoon season and it was torrential. Thanks for the dry pictures. Was there any residual damage from the tsuami you could see?
